Five high schools in four years means too many cheer songs and no long-term friends. Add to that fourteen homes in 18 years and you get the picture of an army brat.

A degree in philosophy and master studies in International Relations were my preparation for joining the Navy. But the recruiter would not guarantee me a job as a spy, so I became a cabinetmaker.

Who said building computer networks is not the same as crafting fine furniture? It takes an understanding of how things fit together, patience and too many parts.

Midnight cowboy...

When everything is quiet in the middle of the night, I get most of my work done. With all the computers and servers connected remotely, I can run all the networks from my livingroom. A home espresso machine helps.

Building a bridge...

America is about to get another covered wooden bridge. I am building one out of wood salvaged from around the state. At the rate I am going, it will take me two years to complete my classic bridge. Where? Over a pristine trout creek near Republic.

Kajitsu...

I have been studying Japanese for just over a year. Supposedly with the course I took, I have the competency of a ten-year-old Japanese girl. No wonder everyone smiled so sweetly at me when I spoke to them in Japan.
